Mistranslation Laboratory

Three fallible, dreamy and untrustworthy “choreographic scientists” are preparing a buffet of experiments. Our research will be made available as performances and tasks for all ages.

Audiences of no more than twelve people at a time will be offered a series of miniature performances. From a menu of 10 works, you will collaboratively choose three pieces, which can be made to order in response to audience desire. When our wee theatre is at rest, the Mistranslation Laboratory is open to all.

An ongoing installation will accumulate throughout our two weeks with the Fringe, at both Basement Theatre and Takutai Square, Britomart. Data collected in our theatrical experiments will be carefully curated as works-on-paper, sound installation, and interactive sculpture.

Join us in our experiments, to gently encounter this nervous, costal city from skeleton to skin.
