Tue 20 Feb - Thu 22 Feb
The Wine Cellar, St Kevin's Arcade
Joel Thomas and Auckland Fringe present:
Keenan is an obsessive musician who one day wants to live off his work. Unfortunately, he lives in contemporary Auckland where the reality of creative success is overdue rent and a poor diet. Keenan places little value on relationships as he focuses on his long-term goals. Jackson is a secretary who wears it all on his sleeve. His idea of success is heading home from work to have fun with the person he loves. That person is Keenan.
Can Keenan and Jackson have a happy relationship with such conflicting views on love and success?
This is a queer play dealing with the potentially toxic nature of ambition and the socio-economic conditions Auckland creatives have to survive in.
The play has a run time of approximately 60 minutes. Afterwards, the audience is invited to hang around for thematically relevant spoken word and music performances by a curated selection of Auckland artists.
