The Third Culture Kid

Part of Auckland Fringe 2021’s international film night!

. . .

The story of a Pakistani-born Muslim boy growing up in Australia, battling the push and pull of cultural forces from home and society to forge his own identity. Combining story-telling, spoken word poetry, and live hip hop performance, this story is a rallying cry for every millennial migrant growing up different. Through resisting, researching, and reconciling his roots with the society he loves and hates, Emkew pieces together a new identity and culture for himself: Third Culture. Digital film screening: Originally presented at Melbourne Fringe Festival 2020.
